Moving Pictures Renaissance
In the era of digital content made for fast consumption and short shelf life, there has been a re-emergence of the analog photographic medium. Starting with Instagram photo filters, the demand and preference for digital photos to appear as analog has only grown. For many, the preference for analog photography is one stemming from feelings of nostalgia however for many photographers themselves, the preference is one stemming from better photos. Commercial photographers operating both with traditional film and newer digital format, the choice between the two is typically made out of convenience and reliability especially when creating images made for online sharing.
One of the newest trends in online photography content is strictly one done in the analog medium; 3D lenticular photographs digitally imported into a software and stitched together in sequence so as to create the illusion of a 3d photograph. The lenticular photographs are produced solely by multiple lens cameras, usually 4 lenses, that take identical images only from slightly different angles. The animated “photographs” make for easily consumable content which stand out against standstill images, which lends itself to digital marketing quite seamlessly.
